So, Dorlán Pabón has officially been snapped up - albeit for a maximum of 17 games as his agreement to join Monterrey of Mexico in the summer is apparently watertight. Judging a player on the basis of YouTube clips is notoriously unreliable, but from the below we can at least see that 1) he's got quite a shot on him (get a look at this), and 2) he looks pretty good in green and white stripes (having spent a couple of seasons with the mighty Atlético Nacional of Medellín, some of whose songs he might recognise at the Villamarín). And despite my facetious remark earlier about Betis wanting someone taller, it does look like he offers Pepe Mel a different kind of threat than the players he already has. He'll reportedly be available as soon as Sunday in Madrid.

I saw quite a lot of him at Atletico Nacional and think he is a good short-term solution.
Positives: strong in possession, lightning quick, rasping shot
Negatives: quite selfish, decision-making often poor
Should fit into our style of play, but think a better long-term option can be found in the summer.

I would add good technique and dribble but not first touch and a bit limited in his movements. Parma played much more defensive than we do.

One more thought... I think he has exactly the type of mobility that can open up defenses for RC and Molina as he does for Falcao very succesfully with Colombia ... Might I add assisting him with crosses and passes to feet on three ocassions... But he should not play alone
